On Friday, January 17 there was a huge gathering of the Mong Community to celebrate the life of one of their beloved pastors, Kx. Num Nyaj Hawj. This pastor had served the Mong community with love and dedication for many decades and gained the love and trust of many hundreds in the Mong community. Here is a short video of me playing Amazing Grace in this great Mong congregation:

This memorial service happened on a Friday, January 17th, at the Lawson Funeral Home in Hoschton, Georgia. The owners, James and Carla Lawson, are about the finest people on the planet. Here is a picture of me standing with James Lawson in the same room as the memorial service but from a couple days earlier. This introduces you to one of the best funeral home directors in the world and the director of this Mong memorial. Truly, the beautiful spirit of the Lawsons covers all that happens in the Lawson Funeral Home. This is a key ingredient of this Mong celebration.

Before that video at the beginning of this blog post, the Mong had celebrated a wonderful community meal. Here below are are some pictures. These pictures are the results after the dinner.

Two days later, on Sunday, there was another large memorial service for the same pastor. It was a very cold day, and I did not understand the language of the sermons, so I went outside to greet the 2 big beautiful horses, that were going to pull the white carriage/hearse!

After the memorial service, the horse-drawn carriage lead the way to the cemetery about half a mile away. All-in-all, this celebration of life was an amazing and memorable event.
